We headed back to Morgan Park last weekend for the last round of the QLD circuit racing championships where we would again run with the QLD IPRA group with a 20 min qualifying session on Saturday morning followed by 1 x 8 lap race and 1 x 10 lap race.

Unfortunately Shane dropped out early losing 4th gear in the Audi #112 after just 6 laps in quali and was left to be official photographer for the day.

This left Russell and Darren to fight it out with the Improved production cars which are significantly quicker than our cars. Race 1 was interrupted by a safety car and Russell came home just in front of Darren in the Camry.

Race 2 saw another rolling start with Russell getting the jump on Darren again and trying to hold off the quicker cars coming from behind. Darren tucked in behind the quattro and on lap 5 got a good run onto the main straight and stuffed up the inside to turn 1 to take the position.

But Russ would not give in and capitalized on a small mistake by Darren to take the position back with only a couple of laps to go leaving him to take 10th place with Darren close by in 11th.

After Darren completed the 2 races on Saturday Shane would take the wheel of the Camry for the 2 races on Sunday so that they would both be able to get their signatures on their licences. As the temperatures soared throughout the day we had to continue dropping tyre pressures on the Camry to get some stability in the rear end. Russell would again beat the Camry to the line in race 3 in the Quattro which was running well and not encountering the same boost issues as last event.

Race 4 would see the Camry get the advantage into turn 1 and lead the Audi for the remained of the race, some fuel surging issues in the last few laps slowed it up a bit but Shane managed to see the chequered flag just in front of Russell. Some DNF’s in the improved production class saw us scrape into the top 10 by the end of the weekend with Shane in 9th and Russell in 10th.

This was our last round for the year as we now turn our attention to prepping the car for the Bathurst 6 hour next year! We would like toi thank all of our supporters that have been following our journey throughout this year. We have loads of racing lined up for next year on both the track and the dirt.
